KJV Bible
I have done two swapmeets (Singletary, MA & Keene, NH) so far and have had some interesting conversations with some of the people I have met. One man in particular asked me why in my last article I used the wrong Bible translation, and not the King James Version. I explained that I am a big King James fan and that all the new translations are wrong and that they have left out many important things. But at times I do use passages from them, because of my readers, that I use a computer Bible and I can compare verses, and that I pick what is the most easiest to understand. I do not like to do this but have felt led to do it so that people can easily understand the point that I am trying to make.
So at this point I’d like to give a short statement on how the King James Version came into existence and why it is the best and most accurate Bible available to us to read and live by.
The King of England decided that it was very important for the common people to have the Word of God in their homes. That they should be able to read it and see what God said, and not be told by the clergy that God wants them to do this that and the other thing. Acts 5: 29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. (So let us use the Word as our authority and guiding spiritual light)
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
By actually having a copy of God’s Word and reading it, you couldn’t be deceived and led astray by false doctrine. He assembled a team of the best Bible translators and had them collect all the manuscripts that were available. They carefully looked over the 300 manuscripts and compared all of them to each other, 293 of them agreed with each other, 7 of them didn’t and were of questionable origins. So what would you do, use the 293 right, and reject what was questionable, right? Another way of looking at it, would you use a dictionary from the library? Or one from the dump, that was thrown away by the printer because it had mistakes? That’s a no brainer right? Well your new translation used the 7 junk manuscripts and rejected the good 293 ones, so what Bible would you like to risk your eternal life on?

Conclusion: Little space is provided for your answers, but it's much more than needed. If you followed the instructions above, you not only failed the test, you receive a big goose egg. If you would like to improve your score, and in fact score 100%, you can take this test using the King James Bible. Please note, below I have included some of the Whole verses that have been removed from the NIV & other translations. (Over 64,000 words have been removed!) Most of the modern Bibles line up very closely with the NIV--and so does the New World Translation--the Bible of the Jehovah's Witnesses which predates the NIV!
Matthew 17:21 -- COMPLETELY removed. Matthew 18:11 -- COMPLETELY removed. Matthew 23:14 -- COMPLETELY removed. Mark 7:16 -- COMPLETELY removed. Mark 9:44 -- COMPLETELY removed. Mark 9:46 -- COMPLETELY removed. Mark 11:26 -- COMPLETELY removed. Mark 15:28 -- COMPLETELY removed. The list goes on and on and the funny thing is all these same verses have also been deleted from the Jehovah's Witness "Bible". So with that thought in mind, maybe we should change its name from the New International Version to the Nearly Inspired Version, whatta ya think? Dust off the KJV and get rid of the NIV, AMEN?
